Trinh Do is a Vietnamese-American writer and author of Saigon to San Diego: Memoir of a Boy Who Escaped from Communist Vietnam. As a young boy, Trinh fled Vietnam with his family after the fall of Saigon and settled in San Diego, California. His memoir recounts their harrowing journey to escape the communist rule and their struggles to adapt to a new culture.

Quyen Vuong is a Vietnamese-American refugee, a Yale and Stanford alumnus, and the Co-founder and Executive Director of ICAN (International Children Assistance Network). Quyen Vuong's life journey has been marked by struggles, perseverance, and a deep desire to give back.

With a burning passion to create opportunities for others, Quyen co-founded ICAN in 2000, a non-profit organization that initially aimed to help Vietnamese children finish high school. As the years passed, ICAN expanded its scope to include college scholarships and other programs. Wendy Lieu is the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, born in a refugee camp after her family left Vietnam in 1982. It took about five attempts to leave Vietnam, and by the beginning of their journey, her mother was pregnant with her. It wasn’t until they arrived at a refugee camp in Malaysia that Wendy was born. After a year in the camp, they eventually came to America. They settled in Emeryville, CA, before going to Albany and, finally, Santa Rosa, where Wendy and her siblings grew up. Her family’s past is a true testament to the hardships that refugee families face coming to a new country. Her success is an inspiring story for all Vietnamese Americans, women, and entrepreneurs. Influenced and inspired by her Vietnamese culture, she has become the Co-founder and CEO of Socoloa Chocolatiers, the name being a nod to the Vietnamese word for chocolate, an award-winning chocolate company based in San Francisco.

Tracey Nguyen Mang is the founder of the nonprofit organization Vietnamese Boat People, dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of Vietnamese refugees. Her journey began with a personal quest to document her own family's experiences, fearing their history would be lost with future generations. Through her podcast, she has created a platform for intergenerational dialogue and cultural preservation, resonating deeply with the Vietnamese diaspora. Tracey’s work emphasizes the human aspect of the refugee experience, focusing on the resilience and identity of ordinary people who have lived through extraordinary circumstances. Her efforts have expanded to include storytelling workshops, a community blog, and an upcoming traveling exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon, showcasing personal narratives and artifacts that reflect the diverse perspectives within the Vietnamese community.

Thanh Nguyen is a first-generation Vietnamese American entrepreneur and the founder of Tofu’s Trading, a business dedicated to the world of card collecting and trading, with their highlighted inventory being Pokémon & Anime collectibles among other cards and products.

Thanh’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited during his college years and was further fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading him to start Tofu’s Trading. Thanh’s cultural background profoundly influences his business values, emphasizing family, hospitality, and community involvement. Now, as the Secretary of the Sports World Business Association Story Road Business Association, Thanh is committed to using his success to make a positive impact on his local community, especially in supporting the unhoused population and bringing back the vibrancy to Story Road.
