ABOUT US
ICAN is a (501)(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2000 with the goal of engaging families to help children become successful and caring leaders in society. Our programs aim to help provide parents with the confidence and skills to be their own advocates.
Founded in 2000 by three Vietnamese refugees, ICAN’s mission from the start has always been to raise the next generation of caring, strong leaders.
Focusing on prevention and early intervention, we aim to raise community awareness and provide education on issues, especially ones considered controversial or taboo within the Asian-American community.
OUR MODEL
OUR VISION
Watch our introduction video:
To engage, inform, and inspire Vietnamese Americans to raise the next generation of caring leaders through humanitarian programs, culturally responsive social programs, and community-based research.
We strive to help children and youth realize their potential by building strong families and community support networks to provide them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to succeed in life.
Our programs empower children and youth to become caring, responsible, and productive members of their families and communities. By spreading the spirit of “youth empowering youth,” they will pioneer the way to a brighter future.
OUR MISSION
To Engage.
ICAN ardently strives to foster engagement within the Vietnamese-American community starting from early childhood, youth, family, and the broader community through our diverse array of programs, community outreach efforts, and charitable initiatives.
To Inform.
ICAN's extensive outreach enables us to educate both the older and newer generations of Vietnamese Americans about the significance of comprehending cultural gaps and the advantages of active community engagement. We achieve this through various means such as public events and forums, community updates, and sharing relevant news among the community.
To Inspire.
ICAN works to raise the next generation of caring leaders to inspire them to make lasting changes as active, progressive members of their community.
Our Mission is to help children and youth realize their potential by building strong support networks to provide them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to succeed in life.
