WHAT IS SPHERE?
Funded by Stanford Precision Health Research for Ethnic and Racial Equity (SPHERE) Center, the program explores strategies to meaningfully engage and educate racial and ethnic minorities about precision health and precision health research.
WHO WE SERVE
ICAN is proud to help strengthen the voice of Vietnamese Americans in the area of research so that culturally competent strategies and services can be documented to serve Vietnamese communities around the world better.
WHAT WE DO
Precision health is defined as “an innovative approach in disease prevention and treatment that takes into account people’s individual differences in genes, environment and lifestyle.” In an effort to recruit one million persons into precision health studies while reflecting the cultural diversity in the U.S., ICAN worked with Dr. VJ Periyakoil, Protocol Director, and Dr. Van Ta Park, Associate Professor at UCSF School of Nursing, SPHERE Consortium Core Member and Community Co-Chair, and other academia throughout the country.
WHY IT MATTERS
