OUR 2022-2023 INTERNS

[Updated in 2024]

  • Alyssa Tran | Marketing Intern

    2022 Cohort

Growing up Alyssa has always felt connected to her Vietnamese heritage. She was always interested in learning about Vietnamese culture, the history of Vietnam and its people. In college, in hopes of getting an internship, she found ICAN. It was the perfect opportunity for her to develop her marketing skills while being able to support her community.

As ICAN grows, there were so many programs, events, and resources that so many people could be using from ICAN that as a marketing intern she felt proud to be able to share more of ICAN with people that may need it.

“I’m so happy and proud to have been a part of ICAN. To see firsthand all of the staff that work tirelessly to provide opportunities and resources for people has made me appreciate others more and being a marketing intern has taught me so many soft and hard skills that I can translate into my personal life and career.”

  • Ngan (Allie) Huynh | Early Childhood Development Intern

    2023 Cohort

Ngan Huynh is currently a junior at UC Davis, majoring in Cognitive Sciences and minoring in Human Development. Growing up and experiencing cultures in Vietnam and America, Ngan understands how both cultures challenge parenting styles. Therefore, she found her interest in exploring Early Childhood Development to help parents who are facing these difficulties.

At ICAN, she learned a lot about positive parenting styles, connecting with people (especially young children), and how to break the unhealthy traditional Asian parenting. Through her academic pursuits and practical experiences, she aspires to empower parents with the knowledge and support needed to raise resilient and thriving children in today's diverse world.
