WHAT IS 100 BIKES?

By engaging students in the US to raise money for bikes for disadvantaged children in Vietnam so they can get to school and complete their education, 100 Bikes provides an opportunity for Vietnamese-American students to build community, give back, and connect to their cultural roots.

WHO WE SERVE

ICAN 100 bikes is a project started by Vietnamese-American youth from the San Jose area to help children in Vietnam by providing them with a bike as a means to go to school or work.

WHAT WE DO

This program engages students in the US to raise money to buy bikes for disadvantaged children in Vietnam so they can get to school and complete their education. This project provides an opportunity for Vietnamese-American students to give back and to connect to their cultural roots.

WHY IT MATTERS

This initiative matters because it goes beyond providing transportation—it enables access to education for children who otherwise might struggle to attend school due to distance or lack of resources. Through this simple yet powerful act of generosity, the 100 Bikes program is helping break the cycle of poverty and empowering Vietnamese youth to pursue their dreams.

IMPACT

To date, ICAN has donated over 700 bikes to poor students in Vietnam so they do not have to walk to school under the scorching sun. Many of those were donated by the students in the 100 Bikes team. Our youth rocks!

In 2019 & 2020 alone, ICAN donated 160 bicycles to young students from impoverished families in Nam Phuoc, Duy Thanh, Tam Ky, Duy Son, Vinh Long and Hue. With your support, we have been able to ease these children's long commutes to and from school.
